ACTIVITY 10.1. – REFLECTION
In your understanding, what is a digital citizen? Give at least three characteristics.
From my perspective, a digital citizen is someone who engages responsibly and ethically in the online world. Here are three characteristics I believe define a digital citizen:
Respectful Communication: A digital citizen communicates respectfully online, avoiding cyberbullying, hate speech, and harassment. They understand that their words have consequences and strive to create a positive and inclusive online environment. They treat others with the same courtesy and respect they would expect in face-to-face interactions.
Information Literacy: A digital citizen is discerning about the information they consume and share online. They critically evaluate sources, identify misinformation and disinformation, and understand the importance of verifying information before sharing it. They are aware of the biases that can exist in online information and seek out diverse perspectives.
Digital Security Awareness: A digital citizen understands the importance of protecting their own digital security and the security of others. They use strong passwords, practice safe browsing habits, and are aware of the risks of phishing and other online scams. They understand the importance of protecting their personal information and data privacy.
